Pakistan–Tajikistan Cultural Week continues with vibrant performances celebrating shared heritage

The second day of the Tajikistan Cultural Week in Pakistan was celebrated with a colorful and captivating cultural evening at the Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA), showcasing the rich artistic and cultural heritage of Tajikistan and further strengthening the deep-rooted historical, cultural, and civilizational ties between Pakistan and Tajikistan.
The prestigious event was graced by the President of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, Asif Ali Zardari, as the chief guest, underscoring the high importance accorded by Pakistan to its longstanding, friendly, and brotherly relations with Tajikistan.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Aurangzeb Khan Khichi, Federal Minister for National Heritage and Culture, Mr. Huzaifa Rehman, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister on Culture and Heritage, and Ms. Sattoriyon Mattubakhon Amonzod, Minister of Culture of the Republic of Tajikistan.
The ceremony was also attended by Mr. Asad Rehman Gilani, Federal Secretary, National Heritage and Culture Division,Mr. Ayub Jamali, Director General, Pakistan National Council of the Arts (PNCA),along with senior government officials,diplomates, eminent artists, cultural practitioners, and a large and distinguished audience.
The Tajik cultural troupe enthralled the audience with a series of outstanding performances featuring traditional folk dances, classical and contemporary musical renditions, and soulful songs. The performances offered a vivid and authentic portrayal of Tajikistan’s rich cultural traditions, artistic diversity, and historical legacy, and were warmly received with great appreciation.
In their remarks, the dignitaries emphasized that cultural initiatives such as the Tajikistan Cultural Week serve as an effective and enduring platform for promoting people-to-people contacts, mutual respect, and deeper cultural understanding.
They highlighted that Pakistan and Tajikistan share centuries-old historical, linguistic, and civilizational linkages, and that cultural cooperation remains a cornerstone of the broader bilateral relationship between the two countries.
The presence of the President of Pakistan, alongside senior federal and state leadership, reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to cultural diplomacy as a vital instrument for strengthening bilateral relations and fostering closer cooperation with Tajikistan through meaningful cultural engagement.
The cultural evening concluded with renewed expressions of goodwill and a shared resolve by both sides to further enhance cultural cooperation, strengthen institutional linkages, and expand artistic exchanges, ensuring that the Tajikistan Cultural Week stands as a lasting symbol of friendship, harmony, and shared cultural values between the peoples of Pakistan and Tajikistan.
