Islamabad, Dec 26: President of the United Arab Emirates and Ruler of Abu Dhabi, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, paid an official visit to Pakistan on Thursday at the invitation of Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, marking his first official visit to the country since assuming office as UAE President.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed was accorded a warm and ceremonial welcome upon arrival. His aircraft was escorted by Pakistan Air Force JF-17 fighter jets as it entered Pakistani airspace. The UAE President was received at Nur Khan Airbase by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with senior cabinet members and government officials.
During the visit, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif and Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed held substantive talks focusing on further strengthening the longstanding fraternal relations between Pakistan and the UAE. The two leaders reviewed progress in ongoing cooperation and explored new avenues to deepen engagement across multiple sectors.
Both sides emphasized the importance of expanding collaboration in economic cooperation, investment, energy, infrastructure development, information technology, and people-to-people exchanges. They also agreed on enhancing bilateral trade, noting its significant potential for mutually beneficial growth.
The leaders exchanged views on key regional and international developments and reaffirmed their commitment to close coordination on issues of mutual interest. Expressing satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations, they reiterated their resolve to work closely for peace, stability, and sustainable development.
The visit is expected to further consolidate the deep brotherly ties between Pakistan and the United Arab Emirates and strengthen their strategic partnership.
