ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Friday commended officials for their dedicated efforts in managing preparations for the upcoming 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women. During the meeting, he directed relevant authorities to ensure that all foreign delegations receive the highest standards of Pakistani hospitality and an enjoyable stay while in the country for this significant international gathering.

The deputy prime minister presided over the 8th session of the High-Level Committee, which is tasked with overseeing the logistics and execution of the 9th OIC Ministerial Conference on Women. The event is scheduled to take place in Islamabad from 12–13 July 2026, according to a press statement issued by the DPM’s office.

During the proceedings, the Committee conducted a comprehensive review of the final arrangements. The Secretary of Human Rights provided an in-depth briefing covering the conference itinerary, delegate facilitation, security protocols, logistics, media management, and the crucial inter-ministerial coordination required to host such a high-profile event. These efforts reflect broader governmental goals, often mirrored in ongoing diplomatic initiatives, such as when the Pakistan Law Minister meets EU envoys to boost human rights ties, underlining Pakistan’s commitment to international cooperation on social and human rights platforms.

The meeting saw the participation of key government figures, including the Minister for Law and Justice, Senator Azam Nazeer Tarar, Special Assistant to the Prime Minister (SAPM) Tariq Bajwa, and Federal Secretaries from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the Ministry of Human Rights. The session concluded with a directive to ensure seamless execution, ensuring the conference serves as a testament to the nation’s organizational capabilities on the global stage.
