RIYADH (special crosspondent) – Saudi Arabia has introduced a new one-year multiple-entry Umrah visa, allowing eligible international pilgrims to perform Umrah multiple times during the visa’s validity while staying in the Kingdom for a cumulative period of up to 90 days.

Visa Integration and Digital Services

The initiative, announced by the Saudi Ministry of Hajj and Umrah, is part of the Kingdom’s ongoing efforts to facilitate religious travel and improve services for pilgrims in line with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030. The new visa has been integrated with the Nusuk digital platform, enabling pilgrims to complete visa applications, obtain permits, book accommodation, arrange transportation, and access a wide range of pilgrimage-related services through a single online portal.

Enhanced Flexibility for International Pilgrims

Under the new policy, eligible visitors will be able to enter Saudi Arabia multiple times during the visa’s one-year validity without the need to apply for a new Umrah visa for each visit. The total permitted stay under the visa is up to 90 days, offering greater flexibility for those wishing to perform Umrah more than once. Saudi authorities stated the initiative is aimed at improving the overall pilgrimage experience, simplifying travel procedures, and supporting the Kingdom’s objective of welcoming more visitors to the Two Holy Mosques.

Economic Impact and Future Projections

The move is also expected to boost religious tourism and contribute to Saudi Arabia’s broader economic diversification strategy under Vision 2030 by expanding the Kingdom’s tourism sector and enhancing the quality of services provided to pilgrims. The Ministry of Hajj and Umrah has advised prospective pilgrims to apply through authorized channels and use the Nusuk platform for visa applications, permits and other essential travel services to ensure a smooth, efficient and seamless Umrah journey.
