KARACHI (special crosspondent) – President Asif Ali Zardari chaired a high-level meeting in Karachi on July 27, 2026, to review the progress of various Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) and bilateral cooperation initiatives between the Government of Sindh and Chinese enterprises. During the session at CM House, the President directed officials to expedite the execution of all agreed projects, urging the swift completion of any remaining procedural and technical requirements to ensure timely implementation.

Strategic Cooperation and Infrastructure Development

The meeting, facilitated by the China-Pakistan-Africa Economic and Trade Cooperation Promotion Association, included delegations from Anhui Nengtong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. and Luoyang Modern Biology Group. Discussions centered on critical sectors including electric vehicle (EV) charging infrastructure, veterinary biological vaccines, agricultural technology, and healthcare. President Zardari underscored Pakistan’s commitment to the All-Weather Strategic Cooperative Partnership with China, noting that the country remains dedicated to strengthening economic ties under the second phase of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC).

Advancing Green Mobility in Sindh

Briefings regarding Anhui Nengtong New Energy Technology Co., Ltd. highlighted the firm’s interest in manufacturing EV charging stations and developing smart energy infrastructure. President Zardari identified Karachi and Hyderabad as pivotal locations for this expansion, suggesting the Karachi-Hyderabad M-9 motorway as a primary corridor for intercity charging networks. He expressed confidence that such partnerships would accelerate Pakistan’s transition toward green mobility and bolster the burgeoning new energy sector.

Enhancing Livestock and Veterinary Security

In the realm of agricultural and livestock management, the President reviewed progress with the Luoyang Modern Biology Group. The discussion outlined a comprehensive roadmap for developing veterinary vaccines, specifically focusing on the Sindh-08 strain of foot and mouth disease. The President noted that vaccine trials are expected to conclude by November 2026. He emphasized that implementing a modern animal tracking and trace mechanism would significantly improve livestock health, enhance disease control, and increase the export competitiveness of Pakistani livestock products globally.

The meeting was attended by key provincial leaders, including Chief Minister Sindh Syed Murad Ali Shah, Senator Saleem Mandviwala, and various provincial ministers, including Muhammad Ali Malkani, Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, and Sardar Muhammad Bux Khan Mahar.
