ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Federal Minister for Planning, Development and Special Initiatives Professor Ahsan Iqbal stated on Friday that the significant Pakistan Saudi Arabia and Türkiye Sign Landmark Makkah Defence Accord is not directed against any third party. Instead, he underscored that the strategic agreement is designed to function as a cornerstone for long-term peace and security across the region.

Addressing Regional Geopolitical Challenges

Minister Ahsan Iqbal noted that recent geopolitical shifts have cast deep shadows of uncertainty, leading to conflicts that have adversely impacted not only Pakistan but the broader regional landscape. During his address, he emphasized that the Saudi Arabia, Pakistan and Türkiye’s Defence Pact: Global Reaction and the Changing Regional Security Landscape serves as a proactive measure to mitigate these vulnerabilities through enhanced cooperation.

Strengthening Historical and Cultural Bonds

The Minister highlighted that Pakistan, Saudi Arabia, and Türkiye share profound historical, religious, and cultural ties that predate modern diplomatic frameworks. He expressed optimism that this trilateral defence initiative would act as a catalyst for regional stability.
