MONTREAL: Consul General of Pakistan in Montreal, Faisal Abro, held a meeting with Captain Ron Hay, President of the International Federation of Air Line Pilots’ Associations (IFALPA), to discuss avenues for cooperation between Pakistan and the global pilots’ organisation.

Captain Ron Hay travelled from the United States to Montreal specifically to meet the Pakistani Consul General and explore opportunities for strengthening institutional ties and professional collaboration between Pakistan’s aviation community and IFALPA.

The discussions focused on the development of specialised training and capacity-building programmes for Pakistani pilots, with particular emphasis on enhancing flight safety, strengthening operational standards and improving professional skills in line with evolving international aviation requirements.

The meeting also explored ways to equip Pakistani pilots with advanced knowledge, technical expertise and international best practices to promote professional excellence and further strengthen safety standards in the country’s aviation sector.

The engagement was described as a constructive step towards fostering closer cooperation between Pakistan and IFALPA. The two sides shared the objective of promoting pilot development, institutional collaboration and a stronger culture of aviation safety in Pakistan.

The IFALPA team is also expected to visit Pakistan in the near future as part of efforts to advance cooperation in pilot training, professional development and aviation safety.
