ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Sunday called for immediate de-escalation and the exercise of restraint, referencing the commitments established under the Islamabad MOU signed in June. The call for stability came during a telephonic discussion between the Foreign Minister and his Iranian counterpart, Seyyed Abbas Araghchi, as confirmed by a spokesperson for the Foreign Office.

The two leaders conducted a comprehensive exchange regarding the rapidly evolving security landscape in the region. Amid these discussions, DPM Ishaq Dar emphasized that sustained dialogue and traditional diplomacy serve as the primary instruments for resolving complex disputes and ensuring long-term peace. This diplomatic outreach follows ongoing efforts by the current administration, similar to how Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif discusses regional peace with Qatari Amir and other global leaders to maintain stability.

During the conversation, DPM/FM Dar reiterated Pakistan’s steadfast commitment to facilitating constructive engagement to maintain regional security. He affirmed that the government remains prepared to play a proactive role in fostering an environment conducive to peace. Both officials agreed to maintain frequent communication to monitor developments in the region, reinforcing the importance of collaborative diplomacy in a volatile environment.
