BANGKOK (Special Correspondent) – Federal Minister for Finance and Revenue, Senator Muhammad Aurangzeb, addressed the G-24 Finance Ministers and Central Bank Governors’ Meeting in Bangkok, Thailand, emphasizing the urgent need for a restructured global financial architecture to better support developing nations. Speaking as the First Vice-Chair, the Minister noted that as the Finance Minister Aurangzeb Advocates for Global Climate Finance Reforms, his focus remains on addressing the multifaceted challenges currently stifling progress in the Global South.
Addressing Global Economic Hurdles

He further pointed to climate-induced shocks, which are systematically eroding decades of development gains, alongside restrictive financial conditions and persistent financing gaps that threaten stability. The Minister underscored that the existing international financial architecture must evolve rapidly to keep pace with these systemic pressures, particularly for nations managing difficult domestic reforms while facing unpredictable external shocks.
Priorities for the G-24
Senator Aurangzeb delineated three core priorities for the G-24, aiming to shift the focus of the international financial system back toward sustainable development.
