Field Marshal Asim Munir Holds Key Meetings with Iranian President, Senior Leadership During Iran Visit

RAWALPINDI: Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, along with Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, held a series of high-level meetings with the Iranian leadership during their day-long visit to Iran as part of Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts to help end the stalemate in the ongoing US-Iran conflict.

Field Marshal Asim Munir called on Iranian President Dr Masoud Pezeshkian, Representative of the Supreme Leader on the Supreme National Security Council Mohsen Rezaei, Iranian Parliament Speaker Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, Foreign Minister Seyed Abbas Araghchi and Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni.

The meetings focused on measures to prevent further escalation, reopening the Strait of Hormuz and expediting an end to the conflict. The two sides also discussed regional peace and ways to achieve a negotiated settlement of disputes.

The Iranian leadership appreciated Pakistan’s constructive role and sincere efforts to facilitate dialogue, de-escalation and a peaceful resolution of the conflict.

Upon arrival in Iran, Field Marshal Asim Munir was received by Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and other senior Iranian civil and military officials.
