Kashgar trade fair inks 19.6m yuan in deals, spurs BRI cooperation

BEIJING, Dec 31 (APP):The Kashgar Featured Products Promotion and the 2nd Trade Fair was recently held in Kashgar, Xinjiang, bringing together overseas buyers and local enterprises to deepen economic and trade cooperation under the Belt and Road Initiative.

The event attracted more than 40 purchasing representatives and heads of chambers of commerce from countries including Pakistan, Tajikistan, Uzbekistan and Iran, alongside over 150 local companies from Kashgar.

At the signing ceremony, eight cooperation intentions were reached with a total value of more than 19.6 million yuan (about USD 2.8 million). The agreements covered a wide range of sectors, including new energy, industrial and mining machinery and equipment, building materials, furniture and hardware, as well as home appliances and daily consumer goods, CEN reported on Wednesday.

Ali, a business representative from Pakistan, said the promotion event offered valuable opportunities for international partners. “Taking this event as an opportunity, we have come to Kashgar, a fertile land for investment and development,” he said. “As a core hub of the Silk Road Economic Belt, Kashgar has not only built a broad bridge for trade, but also enabled us to closely connect with partners in Central Asia, South Asia and beyond. This promotion event has undoubtedly provided an excellent platform for exploring cooperation opportunities and expanding development space.”

Designed as a practical platform for cooperation, the event aimed to facilitate more efficient trade links among Belt and Road partner countries while opening new channels for mutually beneficial international trade.
