ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Bahrain’s Foreign Minister, Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, held a telephone conversation with Pakistan’s Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister, Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar, on Thursday to offer congratulations on a major diplomatic development.

In the call, the Bahraini Foreign Minister specifically felicitated Senator Dar on the signing of the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding between the United States and Iran, an agreement in which Pakistan served as a witness. A news release from the Deputy Prime Minister’s Office confirmed the details of the discussion.

Commendation for Pakistan’s Diplomatic Role

Dr. Al Zayani lauded Pakistan’s constructive and crucial mediation role in facilitating the understanding reached between Washington and Tehran. The successful mediation underscores Pakistan’s growing influence in regional diplomacy, a role often discussed in meetings, such as the recent one between Dy PM Ishaq Dar and the Saudi Ambassador on regional developments.

Both foreign ministers shared their congratulations on this important milestone.
