ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Sardar Ayaz Sadiq, the Speaker of the National Assembly, has formally commended Pakistan’s leadership and its negotiating team for their instrumental efforts in securing the recent peace agreement between the United States and Iran.

Addressing the National Assembly on Friday, the Speaker extended his praise to key figures whose collective endeavors led to this significant diplomatic achievement. He specifically named Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar, and Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi for their roles.

A Historic Diplomatic Achievement

Speaker Sadiq also acknowledged the crucial contributions of officials from the Foreign Office and other members of the diplomatic team, highlighting their coordinated and diligent work. He stated that their efforts have brought an unprecedented honor to Pakistan in its history. The commendation centered on the country’s successful mediation that culminated in the historic Islamabad Accord being signed.

“Due to their hard work and coordination, Pakistan has achieved an unprecedented honour in its history, particularly in relation to the recent signing of the US-Iran peace agreement,” Sadiq remarked on the floor of the house. This accomplishment is seen as a major diplomatic triumph for Pakistan, positioning the nation as a key mediator for peace and stability in the region. The successful negotiation has drawn attention globally, with many world leaders, including the Bahraini Foreign Minister, praising Pakistan’s pivotal role.
