According to the advisory, the Iraqi government has intensified the enforcement of immigration regulations for foreign nationals. Pakistani citizens have been warned that violations such as overstaying visas, engaging in unauthorized employment, or participating in activities that contravene local laws are considered serious offenses under Iraqi law.

The embassy stated that individuals found violating immigration and residency regulations could face substantial penalties, including fines of up to 3 million Iraqi dinars (approximately US$12,000). Authorities may also impose detention, deportation, travel restrictions, and bans on future entry into Iraq.

Key Instructions for Pakistani Citizens

The Embassy has advised Pakistani nationals to:

• Ensure they possess valid visas and legal residency status at all times.
• Regularly monitor the validity and expiration dates of visas, residency permits, and travel documents.
• Avoid unauthorized employment or any activities prohibited under Iraqi law.
• Keep passports and other travel documents updated and readily available.
• Inform family members, friends, and fellow Pakistani citizens about these regulations to help prevent legal difficulties.
