BEIJING (special crosspondent) – On the auspicious occasion of the 79th Independence Day anniversary of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, the Embassy of Pakistan in Beijing held a dignified flag-hoisting ceremony at the Chancery today. Charge d’ affaires Mr. Aizaz Khan hoisted the national flag to the tune of the national anthem.

Messages of felicitations from the President and the Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out that paid rich tribute to the sacrifices made during the freedom struggle under the visionary leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah. They also emphasized the need to uphold the principles of unity, perseverance, and commitment to national ideals in the collective journey toward a stronger, progressive, and prosperous Pakistan. This dedication to national growth mirrors broader diplomatic efforts, such as the strengthening of Islamic world unity as recently highlighted by the national leadership.

Strengthening Bilateral Ties with China

In his remarks, Charge d’Affaires, Mr. Aizaz Khan extended warm felicitations to the Pakistani community in China. He highlighted that Pakistan and China are commemorating 75 years of the establishment of their diplomatic relations, a partnership built upon deep-rooted friendship and mutual trust. These ties continue to evolve, much like the cooperation in agricultural technology which is currently poised to transform local production sectors.

Mr. Khan further appreciated the constructive role of the Pakistani diaspora in contributing towards national development and strengthening bilateral ties through people-to-people exchanges. He encouraged the community to remain engaged with their homeland, similar to the ongoing dialogue regarding administrative cooperation with international partners to resolve challenges faced by expatriates.

Commemorative Cultural Events

The ceremony featured a photo exhibition, showcasing various facets of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah’s life. The students of Pakistan Embassy College Beijing also delivered performances, conveying messages of steadfastness, perseverance, and hard work. The event was attended by Embassy officials, members of the Pakistani community and their families, as well as members of the Chinese media, intelligentsia, and civil society.
