ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Federal Minister for Human Rights Azam Nazeer Tarar held a high-level meeting with Dr. Maimoonah Al-Khalil, Secretary General of the Family Affairs Council of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, to deliberate on critical issues regarding women’s rights, the preservation of the family system, and expanded cooperation within the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC).

The bilateral engagement focused on the significant socio-economic transformations currently underway in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Both dignitaries exchanged insights on the increasing participation of women across diverse professional sectors and emphasized the importance of sharing mutual expertise to further these progressive objectives. This dialogue occurs as Saudi Ambassador Nawaf Al-Malkiy Holds Strategic Talks With Ishaq Dar, reflecting the deepening diplomatic ties between the two nations.

During the session, Minister Azam Nazeer Tarar underscored that Islamic jurisprudence grants women comprehensive rights, specifically in the realms of education, financial inheritance, entrepreneurial endeavors, and broader social participation. The Minister highlighted the historical significance of revered figures, namely Hazrat Khadijah (RA), Hazrat Aisha (RA), and Hazrat Fatimah (RA), citing them as enduring role models whose lives offer a profound blueprint for women’s societal contributions.

Commitment to National Development

Minister Tarar noted that Pakistan holds a distinct position in the Muslim world, having achieved the milestone of electing the first female Prime Minister. He further remarked that women in contemporary Pakistan are playing a vital and increasingly prominent role across various spheres of national development. Reflecting on broader regional stability, Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Urges Regional Restraint Amid Escalations, as both Pakistan and Saudi Arabia reaffirmed their collective resolve to prioritize women’s empowerment and the strengthening of the family unit, while pledging to enhance collaboration through the OIC platform.
