KUALA LUMPUR (special crosspondent) – Pakistani chefs have achieved a historic milestone at the GCCM Global Culinary Cup Malaysia 2026, bringing international recognition to the country’s culinary talent. Competing in the prestigious event for the first time, Eat Guild Team Pakistan won the Team Challenge Silver Trophy, along with four silver medals and five Diplomas of Excellence.

Exceptional Performance on the Global Stage

According to a report, the five-member Pakistani delegation was led by internationally acclaimed chef Faiza Bilal Khan. Despite being a relatively small team, the participants impressed the judges with their exceptional culinary skills, discipline, creativity, and teamwork, outperforming competitors from around the world. This marked Pakistan’s debut in the GCCM Team Challenge, making the Silver Trophy a historic first for the country in one of the world’s leading culinary competitions. While the nation focuses on showcasing premium produce internationally, these culinary professionals have simultaneously elevated the country’s profile in the hospitality sector.

Record-Breaking Competition

The report stated that chefs from more than 36 countries participated in this year’s event, with over 1,000 competition entries, making it one of Malaysia’s largest international culinary championships. Pakistan’s outstanding performance has been widely recognised as a significant achievement for the country’s hospitality and culinary sector. In addition to leading the national team, Chef Faiza Bilal Khan also represented Pakistan as an international judge. She is currently the only Pakistani female international culinary judge serving at GCCM and has held this distinction for the second consecutive year.

Speaking after the victory, Chef Faiza Bilal Khan dedicated the achievement to the people of Pakistan.
