WASHINGTON (special crosspondent) – United States President Donald Trump stated that Iran has agreed to allow inspections of its nuclear facilities, asserting that without this consent, further negotiations between the US and Iran would not have occurred.

Speaking to journalists in Washington on June 23, 2026, President Trump indicated that Iran is prepared for long-term and comprehensive inspections of its nuclear installations. He emphasized that Iran’s willingness to permit these inspections is the foundation for the continuation of the negotiation process; otherwise, discussions would not have advanced.

US President Trump also commented on the possibility of a naval blockade against Iran, stating that a blockade is not currently deemed necessary. However, he added that the US Navy remains fully prepared should circumstances demand it.

“If a blockade is needed again, our warships are in place, but it does not appear that it will be required at this time,” Trump remarked.

He further noted that maritime traffic in the Strait of Hormuz continues normally, with no significant disruptions to global energy supply. According to the President, the recent diplomatic engagements aim to de-escalate tensions in the region and address international concerns regarding Iran’s nuclear program.
