Pakistan and Tajikistan Reaffirm Commitment to Deepening Bilateral Cooperation

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar met with the Foreign Minister of Tajikistan, Sirojiddin Muhriddin, on Saturday to reaffirm the longstanding, brotherly, and close ties shared between Pakistan and Tajikistan.

The meeting took place on the sidelines of the SCO Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, as confirmed by the Foreign Office spokesperson in a formal press release. During the discussion, both leaders underscored the importance of sustained high-level exchanges to further strengthen the bilateral partnership, which remains critical for regional integration.

Strengthening Regional Cooperation

Both officials expressed a shared commitment to further expanding cooperation across several key sectors, including trade, investment, connectivity, energy, culture, and people-to-people exchanges. These discussions build upon broader regional dialogues held in the region, such as recent engagements involving Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar and Kyrgyz leadership.

Foreign Minister Sirojiddin Muhriddin reaffirmed Tajikistan’s continued support for Pakistan’s ongoing efforts to promote peace, stability, and the peaceful resolution of various regional issues. This alignment comes at a time when top diplomats, including Ishaq Dar and Abbas Araghchi, have been actively working to reaffirm the commitment to regional stability through multilateral platforms.

Multilateral Engagement

In addition to bilateral matters, the two leaders exchanged detailed views on regional and global developments. They emphasized the necessity of cooperation at multilateral forums to advance collective goals of peace, stability, and economic prosperity within the SCO framework and beyond.
