Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar Attends SCO Meeting in Kyrgyzstan

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar is participating in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) Council of Foreign Ministers Meeting being held in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan, on Friday.

According to the Foreign Office, prior to the commencement of the official proceedings, Senator Ishaq Dar joined the traditional family photograph ceremony alongside the foreign ministers of the SCO member states. This gathering highlights Pakistan’s commitment to strengthening regional ties, similar to efforts seen in Pakistan and Iran Strengthen Strategic Railway Ties and Regional Connectivity, as the country continues to engage with its neighbors to enhance cooperation.

Regional Cooperation and Economic Integration

The Council of Foreign Ministers meeting serves as a critical forum where member countries deliberate on pressing regional and international issues. Participants are expected to focus on strengthening political and economic cooperation, reflecting the ongoing regional push for connectivity and stability. These efforts are part of a broader diplomatic strategy, much like when the Federal Minister Khalid Hussain Magsi Champions Enhanced Regional Scientific Cooperation, aimed at fostering collective growth.

Furthermore, the foreign ministers are reviewing preparations for upcoming high-level SCO engagements. This session allows for the alignment of policy priorities among member states, ensuring that regional frameworks remain robust in an evolving geopolitical landscape. As Pakistan maneuvers through international economic forums, similar to how the Finance Minister Aurangzeb Explores Economic Ties with U.S. EXIM Bank, the participation of Senator Ishaq Dar underscores the nation’s proactive diplomatic stance in multilateral organizations.
