Bahraini Foreign Minister Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani Visits Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (Special Correspondent) – The Foreign Minister of the Kingdom of Bahrain, His Excellency Dr. Abdullatif bin Rashid Al Zayani, called on Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif during his visit to Pakistan to co-chair the 3rd Session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission (JMC), alongside the Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister of Pakistan. The Prime Minister warmly welcomed the Bahraini Foreign Minister, conveying his best wishes to the leadership and people of Bahrain.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister reaffirmed Pakistan’s deep appreciation for the longstanding and fraternal relations between the two nations, which are rooted in shared values, mutual trust, and robust people-to-people ties. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the positive trajectory of bilateral relations and underscored Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to further strengthening cooperation with Bahrain across diverse sectors, including trade, investment, energy, and human resource development. These diplomatic efforts complement ongoing discussions regarding global economic integration, similar to the Pakistan-UK investment partnership that aims to bolster regional trade frameworks.

Foreign Minister Al Zayani conveyed the greetings and warm wishes of the Bahraini leadership to the Prime Minister, reaffirming Bahrain’s dedication to enhancing bilateral cooperation in mutually beneficial areas. The two sides engaged in an exchange of views regarding regional and international developments, emphasizing the critical importance of continued consultation and coordination on issues of mutual interest. Minister Al Zayani specifically commended Pakistan’s constructive role and ongoing efforts aimed at promoting peace and stability across the region, echoing the diplomatic significance seen in other major international engagements, such as those discussed during the Moscow format Afghanistan talks.

The Prime Minister expressed confidence that the 3rd Session of the Pakistan-Bahrain Joint Ministerial Commission would provide further impetus to bilateral cooperation, ultimately contributing to a deepening of the multifaceted relationship between the two brotherly countries. The meeting was conducted in a warm and cordial atmosphere, reflective of the enduring ties between Islamabad and Manama, a partnership often compared in its strategic scope to the collaborative spirit of the Strategic Committee of the Makkah Alliance regarding regional security commitments.
