Pakistan Embassy in Brussels Opens Photo Exhibition to Mark Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir

BRUSSELS: The Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels has inaugurated a week-long photo exhibition to commemorate Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir, observed on August 5, highlighting the human rights situation in Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu and Kashmir (IIOJK) and reaffirming Pakistan’s steadfast support for the Kashmiri people.

The exhibition features photographs and documentary material portraying the hardships endured by the people of IIOJK over the past several decades, particularly following the developments of August 5, 2019. It presents a visual account of the humanitarian challenges and continuing restrictions faced by the Kashmiri people.

The initiative aims to raise awareness among visitors about the situation in IIOJK and underscore the importance of a peaceful resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in accordance with the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people.

Speaking at the inauguration ceremony, Pakistan’s Ambassador to Belgium, Rahim Hayat Qureshi, described Youm-e-Istehsal Kashmir as a day of remembrance and solidarity with the people of Jammu and Kashmir. He reiterated Pakistan’s principled and unwavering support for the Kashmiri people’s right to self-determination as guaranteed under the relevant United Nations Security Council resolutions.

The ambassador said lasting peace and stability in South Asia would remain unattainable without a just resolution of the Jammu and Kashmir dispute in line with international law and the aspirations of the Kashmiri people. He also urged the international community to continue supporting efforts aimed at protecting human rights and promoting a peaceful and just settlement of the longstanding dispute.

The exhibition will remain open to visitors for one week at the Embassy of Pakistan in Brussels, serving as a reminder of the resilience of the Kashmiri people and Pakistan’s continued solidarity with their struggle for the realization of their right to self-determination.
