ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – On the instructions of the President of Pakistan, former Chairman of the Senate Syed Nayyar Bokhari and President’s Spokesperson Murtaza Solangi visited the Embassy of Nepal in Islamabad to convey the condolences of the President and the people of Pakistan over the loss and devastation caused by last week’s massive flooding. The disaster, which followed landslides and the bursting of a glacier along the China-Nepal border, has caused significant destruction across the region.

Official Visit and Expression of Solidarity

During the visit, the Pakistani delegation met with the Ambassador of Nepal to Pakistan, Rita Dhital, who received them and expressed her profound appreciation for the solidarity and support extended by the Government and people of Pakistan to Nepal during this difficult time. As the nation grapples with the aftermath of climate-induced disasters, Pakistan continues to engage in parliamentary diplomacy to foster regional stability and cooperation.

In a symbolic gesture of unity, Syed Nayyar Bokhari and Murtaza Solangi recorded formal messages of condolence and solidarity in the Embassy’s Visitors’ Book. The visit serves to reinforce the long-standing bilateral ties between the two nations, particularly as Pakistan remains committed to regional disaster relief efforts, much like its recent engagement in high-level discussions such as those aiming to strengthen bilateral partnerships across various sectors.
