President Zardari Approves Hilal-i-Pakistan for UN Envoy Miguel Ángel Moratinos
ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – President Asif Ali Zardari on Thursday formally approved the conferment of the prestigious civil award, Hilal-i-Pakistan, upon Miguel Ángel Moratinos, the United Nations Special Envoy to Combat Islamophobia. The decision was finalized following a summary submitted by Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, according to an official press release issued by the President House.
Official Appointments and Resignations
In addition to the recognition of the UN envoy, the President authorized several key administrative changes. President Zardari accepted the resignation of Fazal-e-Haq Abbasi, who served as a member of the Law and Justice Commission of Pakistan. Furthermore, acting upon the recommendations provided by the Prime Minister, the President approved the appointment of Zafar Hasan as a new member of the Federal Public Service Commission (FPSC). These administrative shifts align with the government’s ongoing efforts to maintain institutional efficiency and economic stability across various state departments.
