Saudi-Based Falcon Vision Group Eyes $10 Billion Investment in Pakistan

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – The Saudi-based Falcon Vision Group has formally expressed interest in investing up to $10 billion in Pakistan across a variety of sectors, as the Federal Minister for the Board of Investment (BOI), Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh, pledged full government support to attract foreign capital. The announcement came during a high-level meeting where the Minister hosted a delegation of business leaders, overseas Pakistanis, and media professionals to discuss the evolving investment landscape in Pakistan.

Delegation and Business Scope

The visiting delegation included prominent figures such as Muhammad Tariq Ghous, Vice Chairman and President of Falcon Vision Company, Jeddah; Zulfiqar, Business Head of Falcon Vision Pakistan; and Dr. Asmat Ullah Khan, Country Head of Falcon Vision. Other attendees included industry professionals like Maqbool, associated with projects such as J7 Emporium, Col. Jamshed, and Attique, an overseas Pakistani based in Korea involved in the luxury automobile sector. During the briefing, Muhammad Tariq Ghous emphasized that Falcon Vision, a diversified group with interests in infrastructure, construction, technology, and industry, has earmarked the $10 billion figure to accelerate its footprint in the Pakistani market.

Government Facilitation and Policy Framework

Federal Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh welcomed the proposal, describing it as a testament to growing international confidence in Pakistan’s economic potential. He outlined the current government’s proactive policy, which includes significant incentives for Special Economic Zones (SEZs), such as income tax exemptions through 2035 and duty-free import of machinery. The Minister highlighted the role of Business Facilitation Centers (BFCs) as single-window platforms designed to remove bureaucratic hurdles and streamline registrations and approvals. He further assured the delegation that Pakistan’s regulatory framework permits 100 percent repatriation of profits, reflecting a non-discriminatory environment for both local and international investors.

Addressing Challenges and Future Projects

While acknowledging existing concerns regarding energy costs and procedural bottlenecks, Minister Qaiser Ahmed Sheikh highlighted the work of the Cabinet Committee on Regulatory Reforms (CCoRR), which is actively simplifying business procedures. During the discussion, Maqbool presented plans for a new Special Technology Zone and his existing real estate projects, while Col. Jamshed introduced a new shopping mall development in Chakwal, noting the district’s high literacy rate and human resource potential. Additionally, proposals for a Gandhara Club near Taxila were reviewed to bolster religious and cultural tourism. Reflecting on his own experience with international joint ventures, the Minister concluded by assuring the delegation of his personal accessibility to ensure that all investment-related matters receive prompt government attention.
