ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Tuesday conducted a formal visit to the Diplomatic Enclave to evaluate the status of ongoing infrastructure development and assess progress on key security-related projects. The inspection highlighted the government’s commitment to modernizing the capital’s most sensitive zone while maintaining strict adherence to environmental standards.

Infrastructure and Environmental Oversight

During his tour, the minister reviewed critical construction activities, including the ongoing work on the perimeter boundary wall, the strategic remodeling of security checkpoints, and the development of new cycling and walking tracks. Addressing officials, Minister Naqvi emphasized the need to accelerate project completion, specifically mandating that no trees be felled during construction. He underscored that development must proceed without environmental degradation, reflecting a balanced approach to urban planning. Beyond security, Minister Naqvi announced plans for the restoration and systematic upgrading of parks within the enclave. He mandated that road widening projects be executed promptly to optimize traffic flow and improve overall accessibility. The Minister of Interior expressed his ambition to transform the area into a premier diplomatic zone that sets an international benchmark for safety and public amenity management. The Chairman of the Capital Development Authority (CDA) provided a detailed briefing on construction timelines and future development strategies, noting that the administration is working in coordination with the Deputy Commissioner of Islamabad to ensure project milestones are met with efficiency and transparency.
