Pakistan and Turkiye Reaffirm Support for Palestine Amid Regional Tensions

ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar on Thursday held a comprehensive telephone conversation with the Foreign Minister of Turkiye, Hakan Fidan, to conduct an in-depth assessment of the escalating crisis in Palestine and broader regional security developments.

Deep Concern Over Escalating Regional Instability

The two foreign ministers expressed grave concern regarding the sustained and intense Israeli military operations currently unfolding in the Gaza Strip and the Occupied West Bank. Both leaders highlighted the alarm caused by persistent violations occurring at the Al-Aqsa Mosque compound in occupied East Jerusalem, noting that these actions are severely exacerbating the ongoing humanitarian catastrophe. The dialogue, which mirrors the strategic consultations often held by the Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, focused heavily on the necessity of a unified international response to the deteriorating security landscape.

Diplomatic Cooperation and Future Strategic Initiatives

During the call, the ministers exchanged views on recent regional and international developments, maintaining a specific focus on the precarious situation facing the Palestinian population. Both diplomats reaffirmed their nations’ unwavering support for the legitimate, fundamental rights of the Palestinian people. Furthermore, the ministers deliberated on a proposal originally put forward by Jordan to convene a high-level summit of Arab and Islamic nations. This initiative aims to synchronize diplomatic efforts and bolster international advocacy in support of the Palestinian cause, reflecting the same spirit of cooperation seen in recent strategic cooperation talks held by Pakistan with regional partners. The discussion underscores the commitment of both Islamabad and Ankara to maintaining a strong, coordinated stance regarding regional crises and ongoing humanitarian issues, similar to their shared engagement in discussions concerning regional stability.
