ISLAMABAD (special crosspondent) – Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Mohammad Ishaq Dar departed for Shanghai, China, on Thursday, commencing a two-day official visit to attend the landmark signing ceremony for the establishment of the World Artificial Intelligence Cooperation Organization (WAICO).

As Pakistan formally joins WAICO as a founding member, the Deputy Prime Minister is scheduled to sign the foundational agreement on behalf of the nation. His itinerary also includes participation in the opening ceremony of the 2026 World Artificial Intelligence Conference (WAIC) and attendance at the High-Level Meeting on Global AI Governance, where international leaders will deliberate on the trajectory of emerging technologies.

Bilateral Engagements and Diplomatic Discussions

On the sidelines of the international conference, Senator Dar is set to hold a high-level bilateral meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
